Like many of us, this Owner has a dream of building a second home in upstate New York, which will be used as an escape from the City, and maybe even as an investment property - renting it as an Airbnb. Upon initial conversations, the Owner described a modest farmhouse style with modern amenities - and so we got to work. We reviewed three alternative plan options, but this H-shape plan quickly became the winner. The single-story plan includes 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a mudroom, and the central open Living Room / Dining Room / Kitchen that opens up from front to back - connecting to the porch and the rear deck. It allows for privacy, and room for guests. I am not sure who is more excited about this project - me or the Owner!
